LITTLE ROCK - In the final non-conference game of the 2024 season, the Trojans reign supreme over Mississippi Valley State by 2 goals. Trojans head into conference play with momentum as Tennessee Tech comes to Coleman.
How It Happened
It was a fairly back-and-forth game as Little Rock and Mississippi Valley State traded blows. The first half saw only 11 shots with 5 coming from the Trojans.
Peyton Urban recorded 5 of her 6 saves in the first half. Heading into the final minutes of the half, it was looking like a nil-nil deadlock until
Maria Schuller found the bottom right side of the goal in the 42nd minute for her 3rd goal of the season. A fairly routine play will be etched in Schuller's memory as her first collegiate game winning goal.Â
The second half played similar to the first. The Trojans did, however, out shoot the Devillettes 5-3. in the 80th minute,
Mykena Turner took it upon herself to create some offense and dribbled her way up the right side. After drawing the defender away from the goal, Turner placed a well-timed cross to the trailing
Jaeda Centeno for an insurance goal.Â
