CONWAY, Ark. — Little Rock senior
Jeila Fullerton recorded her seventh double-double of the season with a game-high 15 kills to go with 10 digs during Friday's match against Jackson State, the opening match of the UCA Invitational at the Prince Center.
The Trojans (5-7) fought back from a 2-0 deficit to force a fourth set against the Tigers (4-5), but fell short, losing by scores of 26-24, 25-17, 18-25, and 25-14. Little Rock will be back in Conway tomorrow to face North Alabama at 12:30 pm.
Fullerton hit .234 during the match and also had four blocks for the Trojans, who managed just .089 percent attacking over four sets.
Bella Cherry and
Kaila Harris each finished with seven kills.
Dariana Valencia led the team with 16 assists while
Kaylee Smith added 13 and a pair of aces.
Jaycee Kennedy also had four blocks and
A'lanae Margaritha added two.
Andrea Roman led the Trojans with 15 digs,
Rylee McClintock and Valencia each had eight and Smith added six.
Saturday's game marks the end of the Trojans' non-conference schedule. Little Rock's OVC schedule begins next week when the Trojans host UT Martin on Friday and Saturday at the Jack Stephens Center.
