ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Little Rock had little trouble finishing off a four-game road trip sweep with a 78-46 trouncing of Lindenwood Saturday afternoon at the Hyland Center. The Trojans' win streak is now five with a makeup, neutral-site game with Eastern Illinois slated for 2 p.m., Monday at the Hyland Center.
Mwani Wilkinson led the Trojans with 19 points and 13 rebounds. He also added three blocks.
Johnathan Lawson chipped in 17 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists.
Tuongthach Gatkek recorded a career-high 13 points with 14 rebounds. He also swatted five of the Trojans' 11 blocked shots.
Ante Beljan scored 12 points.
Lindenwood (9-12, 4-6) only led a total of 2:52 of the game and trailed 42-29 at halftime. The Trojans (13-7, 7-2) took control of the game by outscoring the Lions 36-17 in the second half. The Lions only shot 15.2% from the field in the second half and 27.4% for the game.
The Trojans shot 49.1% from the field and drained 13 of 14 free throws. Little Rock also shot 40.9% from the free throw line.
An 11-2 run to start the second half broke the game open. Lawson's three-pointer at the 12:12 mark gave the Trojans a 26-point lead. Lindenwood never got closer than that, and the margin ballooned to 36 when
Jordan Jefferson made two free throws with 2:10 left.
The win coupled with a Morehead State loss to SIUE Saturday has the Trojans a half game behind Morehead in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. A win over EIU would tie the Trojans with the Eagles for first place.
