HOUSTON, TX.- Little Rock Swimming returns to Houston this weekend for the annual Rice Fall Splash, ready to continue their strong start to the 2025-26Â season after multiple record-breaking performances at the Little Rock Fall Invite. The two-day meet, hosted at the Rice Competition Pool, will feature a competitive field including Rice, Loyola, St. Thomas, and UIW.
The Trojans are coming off an impressive opening meet that saw freshman Megan Stewart set a new program record in the 100 individual medley, while sophomore Amara Addison broke the school record in the 100 backstroke. Both swimmers have surged to the top of the Missouri Valley Conference leaderboard early in the season and will look to carry that momentum into Houston.
Little Rock also brings a deep lineup into this weekend's meet, with entries across every major event. The Trojans are expected to be strong in the 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle, and 200 medley relay — all events where they posted some of the top times in last year's fall competition. The team earned multiple event wins in 2024, including the 400 freestyle relay and 50 freestyle, helping secure a third-place overall finish.
Head coach Nathan Townsend is looking forward to seeing the team's continued growth against a strong field.
"We had a lot of fun last season racing outside in the Texas sun, and we're looking forward to doing it again," said Townsend. "Over the two days, we'll get to see our team compete in several of our main events for the first time this season, so I'm eager to see how we perform. We're coming off an exciting rivalry week, and this meet will be a great test following a tough week of training against strong competition from Rice, Loyola, St. Thomas, UIW, and a few other programs. We've got a lot of fans in Texas, so we're hoping to see some great support on deck."
