Turner’s Early Strike and Trojans’ Resilience Extend Unbeaten Streak

MARTIN, TN. – The Trojans battled to a 1-0 victory over UT Martin on Thursday night, remaining unbeaten in OVC play and improving to 4-3-5 overall (2-0-3 OVC). Junior forward Maggie Turner provided the difference-maker, scoring her fifth goal of the season in the 19th minute, while goalkeeper Peyton Urban recorded 10 saves in another standout performance.

The game was a physical, back-and-forth battle in Martin, Tennessee. The Trojans broke through early when Turner capitalized on a loose ball in the box, slotting it past the Skyhawk keeper to put Little Rock ahead. The team was forced to play a player down after a red card in the 36th minute, but the defense held firm. Urban anchored the back line with 10 saves on 20 total shots faced, supported by key defensive efforts from Mary Ratcliff and Kaylee Cuff.

"Really proud of the performance today, keeps us undefeated in conference," said head coach Kelly Farrell after the win. "I told the team before it's hard to get results on the road, I think it's especially hard when you have to play over half the game a man down, so I'm really proud of the grit and they showed a lot of resilience."

Freshman defender Mary Ratcliff also reflected on the team's effort in the result. "I think with the ten vs eleven we fought really hard," Ratcliff said. "It's always really hard being a man down and I think the midfield worked really hard. We stayed pretty organized and got the result."

Maggie Turner's goal marked her fifth of the season and third game-winner, while Urban's 10 saves highlight another impressive defensive showing. The Trojans' back line showed depth and composure to earn the clean sheet despite the adversity.

The Trojans now sit third in the OVC standings and will return home this Sunday to host Morehead State at 12 p.m. at the Coleman Sports Complex.
