The Trojans travel to Evansville, Ind., to meet Southern Indiana for their second Ohio Valley Conference series of the season beginning at 6 p.m., Friday at the USI Baseball Field. The two teams meet again on Saturday at 4 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games can be streamed on ESPN+.
Little Rock (9-16, 0-3) hasn't lost a regular-season game to USI since joining the OVC two years ago. The Screaming Eagles snapped a five-game losing streak by knocking off the Trojans in last season's OVCÂ Tournament.
 The Trojans are seeking their first OVC victory after dropping three games at home last weekend to Tennessee Tech. The Screaming Eagles (10-14) are 2-1 in league play after taking two of three games at Western Illinois last weekend. Ball State beat USI 5-4 Tuesday night at Muncie, Ind.Â
USI is second in the OVC in team batting average with a .316 mark. Junior DH Cole Kitchens, who hit a three-run home run against Ball State, leads the OVC with a .451 batting average with eight runs scored, four doubles, a triple, two home runs, and 10 RBI. Junior first baseman Kannon Coakley is batting .444 with four runs scored, three doubles, and seven RBI. Sophomore outfielder Cameron Boyd totaled a team-high four RBI in the three games against Western Illinois.Â
Junior right-hander Blake Kimball leads the USI pitching staff with a 2-3 record and a 4.36 ERA. Kimball ranks No. 6 in the OVC in ERA. Junior Andres Gonzalez leads USI in strikeouts with 22.Â
