TULSA, OK. – Little Rock women's soccer came out strong Thursday evening, striking first and showing plenty of fight before ultimately dropping a 3-1 decision on the road.
The Trojans gained momentum late in the first half when midfielder Candice Kilderry found the back of the net in the 40th minute. Her goal gave Little Rock confidence going into the break and rewarded a stretch of composed play in possession.
In goal, Peyton Urban once again stood tall for the Trojans, recording six saves across the full 90 minutes. She was a steady presence in net, keeping her side in contention throughout the evening. Defenders Mary Ratcliff and Emily Nahon each went the distance as well, anchoring the back line and helping hold things together under pressure.
Across the midfield, Amaya Arias logged a full match while Clair Silvestro and Serenity Thake contributed valuable minutes, pushing the pace and helping create opportunities. Freshman Megan Rogan provided a spark off the bench, taking one of Little Rock's three shots on the night, while Maria Schuller and Hannah Schneider also worked to generate attacking chances.
Little Rock's first-half performance highlighted the team's ability to capitalize on set pieces, earning four corner kicks before halftime. That energy and discipline set the tone for the match, as the Trojans continued to fight through to the final whistle.
After the match, head coach Kelly Farrell said, "I thought we had a really good first half. We have to put together a full game though. We need to be more accountable on defensive set pieces and take a bit more pride in defending our box. We've got another big test on Sunday and I know we will rebound with a renewed energy against Tulsa."
