New Orleans, LA.- The Little Rock swimming team will travel to New Orleans this weekend to compete in the Mardi Gras Invitational, hosted by Tulane University. The two-day meet features a round-robin format that allows teams to face multiple opponents in a fast-paced, dual-meet setting.
Little Rock will compete in three dual meets over the weekend, with cumulative team points contributing toward the overall Mardi Gras Invitational championship, which will be awarded at the conclusion of Saturday's competition.
"We're super excited to attend the Mardi Gras Invite, where we'll get the chance to race several strong teams in a round-robin format," Townsend said. "Heading to New Orleans makes it even more special, as it's home to a couple of our swimmers. We'll enjoy great food, compete across nearly every event, and take some time on Sunday to experience the city before returning and jumping back into school on Tuesday."
Little Rock's weekend schedule includes a Friday evening matchup against New Mexico at 4:40 p.m., followed by a Saturday morning dual against North Texas at 8:10 a.m. The Trojans will close the invitational with a Saturday evening contest against host Tulane at 5 p.m.
The Mardi Gras Invitational will be streamed live on YouTube both days here, allowing fans to follow the Trojans from wherever they are.
