Streaking Trojans take on Western Illinois

Little Rock has won three straight games and six of its past seven

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Trojans are looking for a league sweep for the second straight week. After winning at SIUE and Lindenwood, respectively, last week the Trojans (8-10, 5-2) ran past Eastern Illinois on Thursday night at the Jack Stephens Center. They look to keep their winning ways when Western Illinois (4-10, 0-7) visits Saturday after the women's game that tips at 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY 
•Little Rock leads the series 6-1.
•The Trojans lost to WIU in 1979 when the series began and haven't lost since.
•Little Rock hadn't played the Leathernecks since 1981 when the series resumed in 2024 when Little Rock joined the OVC. WIU hasn't beaten Little Rick in four tries in OVC play.

TROJAN TIDBITS
Kachi Nzeh celebrated his birthday in style Thursday scoring a game-high 17 points. He hit 3-of-8 three-pointers. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and added two blocks and a steal. 
Cameron Wallace has averaged 14 ppg and 9.2 rpg over the past seven games. He also notched his fourth double-double Thursday night with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Johnathan Lawson has only missed five free throws in seven OVC games. He was 10-for-10 at SIUE and 6-for-6 Thursday night. For the season, he's shooting 84%.
•Little Rock is in a three-way tie for second place in the OVC with Lindenwood and Tennessee State.
•Next week includes a tough road test with games scheduled with SEMO and first-place UT Martin. 
 
SCOUTING THE LEATHERNECKS
•WIU is 1-9 in road games this season.
•The Leathernecks' last win was December 13 at North Dakota.
•Western Illinois is last in scoring with a 65 ppg average.
•Junior Lucas Lorenzen leads the Leathernecks with a 14.8 ppg scoring average. The Iowa native has scored 25 points twice this season.
