LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – As Little Rock baseball gears up for another NCAA postseason push, the Trojans are expanding their reach beyond the diamond and onto the radio dial.
Little Rock Athletics has partnered with 106.7 The Buz2 to broadcast 10 Trojan baseball games this season, marking the first time a Signal Media station will regularly carry Little Rock baseball. The broadcasts will span four months and spotlight key nonconference and OVC matchups.
"[The Buzz] has always been incredibly supportive of our program through their different shows, so it's exciting to see them partner with us to carry our games this season," Trojans head coach
Chris Curry said. "We haven't had many Trojan baseball games on the radio over the years, and there are a lot of fans who follow us but can't always make it to the ballpark — whether it's the weather or other commitments. Having our games on the radio is another step toward building an elite program. It allows more people to stay connected, grow our fan base, and support our student-athletes. We're grateful to be on The Buzz and truly appreciate their partnership."
The partnership debuted Feb. 16 with the Trojans' victory over Memphis, giving fans a new way to follow the action all season long.
"We're excited to expand our partnership with 106.7 The Buz2 and showcase our baseball program to a broader audience," Director of Athletics Frank Cuervo said. "The Buzz has been an outstanding home for our men's and women's basketball programs, and adding baseball is another step forward in growing Trojan Athletics and connecting with our fans across Central Arkansas."
106.7 The Buz2 already serves as the radio home for Trojan basketball. Adding baseball strengthens the visibility of a program that continues to compete at a high level in the Ohio Valley Conference and beyond.
"We are thrilled to have a chance to air some of the games for Trojan baseball for the upcoming season," said 103.7 The Buzz General Manager Justin Acri. "It's a great way to build on the momentum for Coach Curry and his team from last year's exciting finish and a way to strengthen our great partnership between The Buzz and Little Rock Athletics."
Fans will hear familiar voices on the call. ESPN+ baseball broadcaster Max Coltrane will share play-by-play duties with ESPN+ men's and women's basketball voice Michael Westbrook, providing experienced coverage throughout the schedule.
The next broadcast is set for 1 p.m. Sunday March 8, when the Trojans travel to Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Two days later, the home matchup with Arkansas State will air at 3 p.m.
Additional March broadcasts include a home game against Oral Roberts, an OVC showdown with Southern Indiana and a road contest at Ole Miss. OVC Tournament games and potential NCAA Regional games will also be aired.
With championship aspirations and a new platform amplifying every pitch, swing and strikeout, Trojan baseball is poised to make noise both on the field and on the air.
