Herman, Cannedy earn wins at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. — Brock Herman and Kodiak Cannedy earned wins Friday at Oklahoma State's Gallagher-Iba Arena, but Little Rock fell to the No. 4 Cowboys in a nonconference dual by a 41-6 final score.

Oklahoma State had built a 15-0 lead before Brock Herman notched his ninth win of the season and seventh in his last eight trips to the mat. Herman – ranked No. 21 in the 149-pound division – battled out a 6-5 decision victory over Beau Hickman to get the Trojans on the scoreboard.
 
The Cowboys took the next three matches, increasing their lead to 30-3, before Cannedy outscored Trevor Dopps for an 8-2 decision victory at 184 pounds. It was Cannedy's third win of the season and first wince Jan. 3.
 
"It was awesome to wrestle in a great environment. Brock and Kodiak came out with tough wins in a tough place to win," associate head coach Javier Maldonado said. "We will lick our wounds and get back to work tomorrow, and get ready to defend the Jack vs Bakersfield on Sunday."
 
Oklahoma State earned three wins by pin and four by technical fall. The Cowboys also had one decision victory, as No. 2 Dee Lockett handed No. 5 Matty Bianchi his first loss of the season after 16 consecutive wins for the senior.
 
Little Rock is back in action Sunday when the Trojans host CSU Bakersfield for a Pac-12 dual at the Jack Stephens Center. The competition begins at 12:30 pm and can be streamed live on FloWrestling.com and the FloSports app.
