Little Rock junior Brannon Westmoreland has been named to the 2026 National Pitcher of the Year Watch List. The award honors the nation's top performer on the mound and will be presented later this year by the College Baseball Foundation.
"I'm very proud of Brannon and how hard he's worked," head coach Chris Curry said. "We're excited to see him continue to compete, improve, and lead our team."
Westmoreland, a 6-foot-6 right-handed hurler from Haskell, Okla., has stepped into the ace role for the Trojan pitching staff this season. He has compiled a 2-0 record with a 1.52 ERA over four starts for the 8-8 Trojans.
Westmoreland was also named Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday and currently leads the conference with 26 strikeouts. His most recent outing included six innings of shutout work, allowing just four hits while striking out eight in an 8-2 win at Central Arkansas.
All four of his starts have been quality outings, as he has pitched at least five innings while allowing two runs or fewer in each appearance. Through 23.2 innings, he has surrendered just four runs on 13 hits while issuing six walks.
The National Pitcher of the Year is one of four awards presented by the College Baseball Foundation. The CBF also presents the Brooks Wallace Award, the John Olerud Award, and the Buster Posey Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award.
