Biography

Molly Castner steps into her role as UALR’s Director of Merchandising after working as an assistant academic advisor for the Trojans last year while working towards completing her master’s degree.

A native of Granby, Conn., she will graduate in the fall with a master’s degree in student affairs. As Director of Merchandising, Castner will run the Trojan Store in the new arena, which will feature UALR apparel and souvenirs. She will also oversee the ordering and merchandising of all Trojan products, while aiding with ticket sales.

Castner received a bachelor of arts degree in sport management with a business concentration from Florida State University in 2002. She was a three-year member of the Seminole track and field team, competing in the javelin. Prior to joining the Trojan athletic department, she worked as an intern for the AAA Nashville Sounds baseball club and as an assistant buyer for the Vanderbilt Medical Center gift shop.

Castner has also worked as site director for the youth track program at the Knoxville (Tenn.) Track Club, as sports camp counselor for the city of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and has volunteered with the USATF Junior Olympics national championships; the Women's Sportsfest Weekend at her alma mater, Florida State University; and as a swimming program assistant with the American Red Cross.

While a student-athlete at FSU, Castner was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll and was also a member of Florida State's ACC championship track team in 2000-01.
