The 2024 season will mark Josh Aguilar's third season in the Capital City and his first as a full-time head coach. Aguilar was promoted to the full-time coaching staff on July 1, 2023, when NCAA rules allowed for college baseball programs to add a third full-time assistant coach in place of the volunteer role.
He spent the 2023 season working with the catchers as the volunteer assistant coach. His first season at Little Rock was the 2022 campaign as a graduate manager.
Aguilar joined the Trojans after spending three seasons as a member of the Henderson State baseball team from 2017-19, making 69 starts in 88 career games as a catcher for the Reddies. Aguilar posted a .280 career batting average with five home runs and 45 RBI, helping lead Henderson State to its first Great American Conference Championship in 2021 as well as an NCAA Regional.
The Dallas, Texas native spent his freshman season at Louisiana after being named a three-time first team all-district selection at Bishop Lynch High School. Aguilar earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Henderson State in 2021.
