Prior to UALR:  Played a season each at Motlow State and Volunteer State JC… Batted .370 as a freshman at Motlow State and .380 as a sophomore at Volunteer State… Named All-Conference as a DH.

Gallatin HS:  Played for the Green Wave under head coach Mickey Armstrong… Batted .410 at Gallatin HS with five home runs to win the team’s hitting award.
