2025 (Senior): Has started and come out of the bullpen in his senior season … He started at Arkansas and pitched 2.2 innings … Pitched two innings of relief in a win against Eastern Illinois in the OVC Tournament quarterfinals. 

2024 (Junior): Made six appearances with one start … Pitched five innings. 

2023 (Sophomore): In his sophomore season, Burkey appeared in 16 games with 13 starts and 56.2 innings pitched … Burkey threw 29 strikeouts on the year as he amassed a 2-2 record on the year.

Prior to Little Rock: Played club baseball with the Arkansas Sticks … Was named to the all-tournament team at Perfect Game’s WWBA World Championship in 2019 … Graduate of Poplar Bluff High School where he was an all-conference player his sophomore and junior year … Helped the Mules to become SEMO Conference champions in his freshman and sophomore year … Ranked as no.11 right-handed pitcher in the state of Missouri class of 2020 … Attended Missouri State University out of high school where he appeared on the MVC academic honor roll … Comes to Little Rock after spending a season at Three Rivers College.

Personal: Son of Sharon and Stacey … Has one older brother named Josh … Intends to major in psychology with hopes of one day becoming a mental skills/performance coach.
