2x Sun Belt Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

2015: Named the Sun Belt Conference's Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 12 after recording a conference-high 5.92 digs per set for the week... Named the Sun Belt's Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time on Nov. 16 after recording 27 digs (6.75 per set) in the regular-season finale against Appalachian State (Nov. 13)... Became single-season record holder for digs with 541 after she recorded 24 in the final match of the season against Arkansas State (Nov. 21)... Set a program rally-scoring record for most digs in a four-set match with 34 against Appalachian State (Oct. 9)... Her 38 digs against Memphis were the most in the Sun Belt for the entire season and tied the second-most in a match in program history.

Pre-Little Rock: In 2008, Almeida was recognized as the best libero in the Sul Americano Games and the National Games. Before making her way to the United States, Almeida attended school in Brazil.
