Terry spent the 2007-08 campaign as an assistant coach at Angelina College, following a three-year stint as a student assistant at Texas-El Paso. In addition to his collegiate experience, Terry gained coaching experience at a prep school in Philadelphia, and various AAU teams, where he worked with three players who went on to play in the National Basketball Association in John Salmons, Matt Walsh and Kevin Durant.
In his first season under Doc Sadler’s guidance at UTEP, Terry was a part of a Miner program which ended the year with a 27-8 record and a Western Athletic Conference championship. In his only season at Angelina, Terry helped mentor three players who went on to sign with Division-I schools – Dee Proby, Brandon Moton and Horace Dixon.
Terry was able to earn his bachelor’s degree in just three years at UTEP, and is currently working towards his master’s degree. He is married to the former Sekea Murray.
