Dion Murombe

Dion Murombe is entering his second season as Assistant Track and Field Coach for horizontal jumps.

Dion brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role, with a strong background as a former NCAA qualifier and all-conference athlete in the triple jump. His accolades and determination are key contributions to his team's success, and his competitive spirit and drive continue to inspire athletes at all levels.

During his first season of coaching, Dion helped lead the track team to winning the Indoor Ohio Valley Conference Championship, as well as coming runner-up in the Outdoor OVC Championship.

Dion also led multiple student-athletes to conference championships, national or conference awards, and even new school records.
Individual accolades include Lexi Washington being named the 2024 OVC Field Athlete of the Year after winning both the long jump and triple jump at the OVC championships, as well as breaking a 30+ year-old school record in the long jump. Layton Watson (triple jump) and Falon Short (long jump) were both named conference runners-up in their respective sports.

Dion also assisted the men’s and women’s 4x100-meter relay teams to 2024 OVC titles.Â
