Michelle Parr is entering her second year as UALR's assistant coach in 2014. Her primary area of responsibility will be working with the Trojans goalkeepers.

Parr holds a USSF 'B' National Coaching License, an NSCAA National Goalkeeping Certification and was awarded the April Heinrichs/Nike Coaching Education Scholarship in 2002 in recognition of her work with female players. She is also currently a member of the Arkansas State Soccer Association Olympic Development Program (ODP) Coaching Staff. Since moving to Arkansas in 2009, she has coached goalkeepers for the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Bryant High School, Cabot High School, Episcopal Collegiate High School, North Little Rock High School, Maumelle Soccer Club, and Arkansas Soccer Club. She also runs her own Goalkeeper Academy in North Little Rock, where she attracts more than 50 youth keepers at her Summer Goalkeeper Camp and Fall and Spring Goalkeeper Academies.

Parr coached the goalkeepers at UAPB in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, helping the Lions win the 2011 SWAC Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament with a 16-5-1 record. Her freshman goalie was named the 2011 Conference Freshman of the Year, the 2011 Conference Keeper of the Year and finished the 2011 regular season ranked first nationally in save percentage (.960). She also won Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors multiple times during the season.

Prior to working at UAPB, Parr served as the Assistant Director of Coaching and WPSL Assistant Coach for the Puerto Rico Capitals FC, the first international franchise to compete in the Women's Premier Soccer League. As a result of her impressive performances during the WPSL season, the team's starting keeper was named to the All-Conference Team. From 2003-2007, Parr was the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Georgia College & State University and a member of the Georgia State Soccer Association ODP Coaching Staff.

An original coach for the American Soccer Club “Eagles” (now known as Lonestar Soccer Club) in Austin, Texas, Parr provided weekly instruction to all of the club's goalkeepers for 13 years (1990-2003) and served in a variety of other roles including webmaster, general manager and college liaison. She also served as a South Texas Youth Soccer Association ODP State Staff Coach from 1993-2002.

Parr is a co-creator of SoccerROM.com, an online coaching education service that has served beginning and veteran soccer coaches from all 50 states and 97 countries around the world since 1998. She was an editor and illustrator for SoccerROM's first book, “Winning Goalkeeper Training,” which was published in January 2009 by Reedswain. She also served as a Technical Advisor for Caravan Pictures' soccer movie “The Big Green” which was released by Disney in September 1995.

Parr played in goal for the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Team at Texas where she led the region in saves, was team captain, and was named her team’s most valuable athlete. As a youth player, Parr played on the Region III U16 and U19 ODP teams, and was a member of the US Women's U19 National Team Pool. In 1997, Parr was again selected to the South Region Team and played in the U.S. Soccer Festival in Blaine, Minn. She also played in the W League for two years (1999-2000).

Parr earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors degree in Sociology from Texas in 1995. In 2005, she earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia College & State University, and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society, in 2006.

Parr and her husband, Robert, currently reside in Sherwood, Arkansas, and have one son, Christopher.
