James Lundberg enters his third season as assistant track and field coach after a successful collegiate career for UALR. Lundberg will be in charge of assisting with jumps for the Trojans.
The four-time NCAA Regional qualifier and two-time Sun Belt Conference Champion holds two UALR Indoor Track and Field records in the long jump (7.62m) and the high jump (2.03m) and two UALR Outdoor Track and Field records in the long jump (7.68m) and the high jump (2.10m).
The Minneapolis, Minn. native won his first Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field title in 2005 winning the long jump in 23-9.50. He won his second title during the 2005 outdoor season winning the long jump in 7.68m.
Lundberg was a two-time all-state and three-time all-conference selection at Armstrong High School. He won the state championship in the long jump and high jump his senior season. He owns four individual school records and three relay records at his high school.
Lundberg graduated from UALR with his B.A. in health science in December of 2006. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in counseling.
