Nathan Carr was named an assistant coach for the Trojans for the start of the 2013-14 academic year and continued in that role during the 2014-15 campaign. He served as a Trojan student-athlete for his undergraduate years, running mid-distance and cross country.
2013 Outdoor Season: Finished second and scored eight points with a season-best time of 1:51.78 in the 800m at the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Championships (May 13)… Won the 800m with a time of 1:53.55 at the UCA Open (March 30)… Ran a career-best 22.76 in the 200m at the Harding Bison’s Invitational (April 6)… Took third in the 800m with a time of 1:52.19 at the Ole Miss Invite (April 13)...Named to the Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll for maintaining a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49.
2012-13 Indoor Season:Â Competed in two indoor meets, winning the 800m with a time of 1:53.77 at the Arkansas State Kickoff Classic (Dec. 2) and taking fourth in the mile with a time of 4:29.81 at the Arkansas State Invite (Jan. 25).
2012 Outdoor Season: Competed in four meets for the season… Highest finish for the season was eighth in the 400m with a season-best time of 49.76 at the Hendrix Invite (March 10).
2011-12 Indoor Season: Won three individual events and was a part of two distance medley relay teams that finished first… Won the 800m with a time of 1:53.85 at the 2012 Sun Belt Championships (Feb. 25)… Also won the 800m with times of 1:54.63 and 1:55.34 at the Arkansas Invite (Jan. 27) and Arkansas State Kickoff Classic (Dec. 2)… Finished third in the 800m with the second-best time in school history, crossing the line in 1:51.24 at the Arkansas Final Qualifier (March 2).
2011 Outdoor Track Season: Became the first Trojan to win both the Sun Belt Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the 800-meter run in the same year…Earned All-Sun Belt honors winning the 800 meters in 1:52.05 and setting a new stadium record…Recorded a career-high in the 800 meters at the Mt. Sac Relays placing 28th in 1:51.55 ranking him second in Little Rock career records…Recorded career-high in the 400-meter dash at the Rhodes College Open placing seventh in 49.24 ranking him ninth in Little Rock career records…Recorded career-highs in the 1,500-meter run placing second in 3:54.90 and ranking him eighth in Little Rock records and in the 4x400-meter relay as the second leg placing third in 3:15.76 ranking them tenth in Little Rock records at the UCA Relays…Also recorded finishes in the 800 meters winning the Memphis Invitational in 1:52.06 and placing 14th at the Stanford Invitational in 1:52.16 and in the 1,500 meters at the Beach Invitational placing 14th in 3:52.38.
2011 Indoor Track Season: Won the 800-meter run at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships earning All-Sun Belt honors in 1:53.48…Also earned All-Sun Belt honors at the Indoor Championships as second leg of the Distance Medley Relay that placed third in 10:28.79 ranking them ninth in Little Rock career records…Ranked third in the Little Rock career records in the 800 meters after recording a time of 1:53.13 and a second place finish at the Middle Tennessee Invitational…Also recorded 800 meter finishes at the ASU Kickoff Klassic winning in 1:55.73, at the ASU Invitational placing third in 1:55.66, and at the Tyson Invitational placing third in 1:53.53…Placed fifth as the fourth leg of the 4x400-meter relay team in 3:25.06 at the ASU Kickoff Klassic…Placed fourth in the mile at the ASU Invitational in 4:21.59.
2010 Cross Country Season: Recorded a 21st-place finish at the 2010 Sun Belt Conference tournament recording a time of 26:34.9 in the 8K to help the Trojans to the championship title…Recorded career-high in the 8K at the Brooks Memphis Twilight placing 36th in 25:22.04 ranking him 17th in Little Rock career records…Recorded season-high in the 5K at the UALR Invitational placing eighth in 15:40.69…Placed 10th at the Arkansas Tech Twilight for the four-mile course in 20:42.84.
Iowa Western Community College: Competed at Iowa Western Community College where he earned All-American honors last season at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships placing second in the 4x800-meter relay and third in the 800-meter run…Last season, won the 800 meters at the Region XI Outdoor Championships in 1:53.78 and placing second in the 400-meter dash in 49.02…Member of two regional record setting relays teams during indoor season with times of 3:21.23 for the 4x400-meter relay and 8:00.33 for the 4x800-meter relay…Member of NJCAA regional academic team.
High School: Competed at Melbourne Grammer School where he was captain for the cross country team and led the track and field team to a championship at the APS conferences…Recorded personal bests of 1:52.02 in the 800-meter run, 48.9 in the 400-meter run, and 22.8 in the 200-meter run.
