2010:  Enters first season as assistant coach for the UALR track and field program.

2010 Outdoor Track Season:  Qualified for fourth-straight NCAA Regional in the discus at the Harding Invitational winning the event in 53.07m…Recorded season-high in the discus at the ULM Warhawk Classic placing second with a throw of 55.29m…Recorded a career-high and set the UALR record in the hammer with a throw of 57.59m for a third place finish at the Rhodes College Open…Won the hammer at the UCA Relays in 53.85m and at the ULM Warhawk Classic in 56.70m…Also recorded discus performances at the UCA Relays placing second in 45.85m, Rhodes College Open placing second in 49.30m, Ole Miss Invitational placing fourth in 53.98m, Mt. 2010 Indoor Track Season:  Recorded season-high in the weight throw at the ASU Kickoff Klassic with a distance of 16.83m and a sixth place finish…Recorded highest finish in the weight throw at the Arkansas State Invitational placing fifth with a throw of 16.56m…Recorded a throw of 16.78m at the Sun Belt Championships in the weight throw for a sixth place finish.

2009 Outdoor Track Season:  Qualified for third-straight NCAA Mideast Regional in the discus at the Bison Invitational winning the event with 54.38m, a season-high, ranking him second in the Sun Belt Conference...Won first conference discus title at the Sun Belt Championships in 52.55m...Qualified for second-straight NCAA Mideast Regional in the hammer after winning his first conference title in the event at the SBC Championships with a throw of 56.27m, a new meet record, ranking him first in the Sun Belt and UALR career records...At NCAA Mideast Regional, placed 18th in the discus, 50.53m, and 25th in the hammer, 54.53m...Won the discus at the Rhodes Open with a throw of 49.55m and placing second in the hammer with 51.94m...Also recorded third place finishes in the discus (51.81m) and the hammer (54.31m) at the Ole Miss Invitational and sixth place finishes in the discus (50.89m) and the hammer (55.93m) at the LSU Alumni Gold...Received Sun Belt Conference Field Performer of the Week after recording second-straight regional mark in the discus and setting the UALR career record in the hammer at the Ole Miss Invitational.

2009 Indoor Track Season:  Set the UALR record in the weight throw at the Sun Belt Conference Championships placing third in 17.09m and ranking him fourth in the Sun Belt...Placed ninth in the weight throw at the McDonald’s Invitational with a throw of 16.25m.

2008 Outdoor Track Season:  Qualified for his second straight NCAA Mideast Regional appearance in the discus at the Ole Miss Invitational winning the event in 53.22m (174-07)...Threw for four more regional marks including a career high, school record, Sun Belt season best, and new stadium record at the Arkansas State Duals Meet winning the event with a throw of 55.96 (183-7) ranking him No. 27 in the nation and No. 11 in the Mideast Region...Placed 20th at the Mideast Region in the discus with a throw of 52.02m...Also competed in the discus at the Hendrix Invitational wining the event in 46.42m, the Harding Invitational winning the event in 53.71m, the John McDonnell Invitational placing second in 50.72m, the ULM Warhawk Classic placing second in 53.89m, and the Sun Belt Championships placing second in 52.86m...Earned Sun Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week twice for the discus...Also qualified for his first NCAA Mideast Region appearance in the hammer winning the event at the Sun Belt Championships in 53.35m (175-00) ranking him first in the Sun Belt and second in UALR career records...Also competed in the hammer at the Ole Miss Invitational placing ninth with a throw of 48.25m (158-04), and at the Arkansas State Duals Meet winning the event in 51.67m (169-6)...Named to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll for academic excellence...Received USTFCCCA Division I Men's All-Academic Team honors.

2008 Indoor Track Season:  Recorded season and career high in the weight throw at the Arkansas Invitational winning the event with a throw of 16.59m (54-05.25) placing him first in UALR career records and fourth in the Sun Belt Conference...Placed fourth in the weight throw at the Arkansas State Invitational with a throw of 16.48m (54-01.00)...Placed fifth at the Sun Belt Championships in the weight throw with a distance of 16.03m...Also placed fifth in the event at the Arkansas State Kickoff Klassic recording a throw of 15.54m (51-00.00). 

2007 Outdoor Track Season:  Qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regionals in the discus at the first track meet of the season placing second at the Rhodes College Open with a distance of 53.06m (174-01) ranking him first in UALR career records and second in the Sun Belt Conference and earning him Sun Belt Conference Field Performer of the Week...Recorded highest finish in the discus at the UNT Classic winning the event with a throw of 49.52m (162-06)..Placed third at the Sun Belt Championships in the discus with a throw of 50.11m (164-05)...Placed 20th at the Mideast Regional in the discus with a throw of 48.99m (160-09)...Recorded highest finish in the javelin at the Rhodes College Open placing fourth with a throw of 50.94m (167-01)...Recorded season best in the javelin at the John McDonnell Invitational placing fifth with a throw of 54.46m (178-08) ranking him third in UALR career records and seventh in the Sun Belt...Placed tenth at the Sun Belt Championships in the javelin with a throw of 48-04m (157-07)...Earned USTFCCCA Division I Men's All-Academic Track and Field Team honors...Named to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll for academic excellence.

2007 Indoor Track Season:  Recorded highest finish at the ASU Kickoff Klassic placing seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 14.20m (46-7.75)...Recorded season best in the weight throw at the Sun Belt Conference Championships placing ninth with a distance of 14.47m (47-05.75) ranking him second in UALR career records.

2006 Indoor and Outdoor Track Season:  Redshirted.

High School: A three time all-state honoree in track, Atkins helped led his team to three consecutive 3A state titles in 2003, 2004, and 2005 while winning the discus title in 2004 and 2005...Personal best in the discus is 173'7''...Received all-state honors his senior year in football and baseball...Graduated with honors.
