Ashanti Gray joined Little Rock Athletics Department in July 2025 as Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations. He previously served as Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Operations at Florida Memorial University from March 2023 until his arrival in Little Rock.

Gray came from Dillard University where he served as assistant coach for the men's basketball team before being elevated in his fourth season as the men's interim head coach of the Blue Devils for the first half of the 2022-23 season. He also spent two seasons as the men's assistant basketball coach for the University of Mobile.

After coaching at the University of Mobile, Gray spent time at the University of South Alabama as Assistant to the Athletic Director of Facilities and Game Operations.

Gray has impacted his previous communities in a positive manner as he served as a volunteer and a spokesperson for the Son of a Saint Youth Program, participated in the Culture Aid NOLA Food Distribution, and was a mentor for the Boys and Girls Club in Hattiesburg, Miss. He is also a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Gray received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi with a major in Sports Management and later obtained a Master of Education from the University of Mobile with a major in Higher Education Administration Leadership and Policy.
