Cassie Gehring joined the athletic staff in Spring 2025 as Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Financial Officer. Cassie brings 11 years of experience in a higher education setting with a focus on financial management, budgeting, and fiscal oversight. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration as well as certification in Nonprofit Management, both from Arkansas-Little Rock.
 
 Cassie, a Searcy, Ark., native came to Little Rock after four years at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where she worked in Institutional Advancement as Administrative Services Director.
 
Cassie has worked with a number of organizations at UA Little Rock, starting with the Alumni Association as a Member Services Assistant from 2007-2011. After two years teaching English and Spanish at DeSoto School, she returned to UALR in the Office of Alumni and Development, where she held positions as Advancement Services Coordinator, Accountant, and Associate Director of Advancement Services. She also worked as a Grant Writer for Academic Affairs.
 
Her 2021 grant proposal helped UA Little Rock receive the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) federal grant worth more than $580,000 from the Department of Education, which helps pay childcare expenses for low-income and single-parent undergraduate students, assisting them in completing their college education.
 
In addition to her MPA and certification, Cassie also holds bachelor’s degrees in Spanish, as well as Professional and Technical Writing, also from UA Little Rock. Cassie and her husband, Andrew, are the proud parents of a daughter, Scarlett.
