Mark Benton joined the Trojans in August of 2025 as the Academic & Student-Athlete Support Services Associate working primarily with the men’s basketball team towards their academic success. 

Prior to UALR, Benton worked as the Championships Intern at the Ohio Valley Conference, helping run various conference championships and gaining experiences in multiple aspects of college athletics such as compliance and operations. While pursuing his Masters at Belmont University, Benton served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Belmont, facilitating multiple undergrad courses and growing his passion for education. 

Spending his previous 7 years in Nashville, Benton acquired both his B.S. in Audio Engineering and Masters of Sport Administration from Belmont. Benton began his career in sports working freelance broadcast jobs for various games and functions around the middle-Tennessee area, including with the NFL, NHL, and PFL.
