LITTLE ROCK – With the 2016 season over, seven members of Little Rock baseball are taking part in summer-league action and have made their way to the Jayhawk Collegiate League, the Mid-Plains League and the New England Collegiate Baseball League with action already in progress.

"I'm excited about the summer because of the opportunity it affords our younger guys and the guys who didn't quite the get at-bats or the innings that we wanted," head coach
Chris Curry said. "You really see some growth and increase from the at-bats and innings. Guys are in a situation where they have time to work on things."

Catcher
Jonathan Davis will head to Derby, Kan., to play for the Derby Twins of the Jayhawk Baseball League. Davis made six starts and appeared in 23 games in his freshman season with the Trojans.

Outfielder
Danny Mitchell Jr., infielder
Christian Reyes and outfielder
Cale Ridling will be playing their summer ball in the Mid-Plains League. Mitchell and Reyes will compete for the Rossville Rattlers in Rossville, Kan., while Ridling will play for the Independence Veterans in Independence, Mo.

Three Trojans will compete against each other in the NECBL. Outfielder
Keegan Meyn will play for the Vermont Mountaineers in Montpelier, Vt., pitcher
Zach Ours will play for the Mystic Schooners in Mystic, Conn., and pitcher
Cole Townsend will play for the Sanford Mainers in Sanford, Maine.

"We have guys scouted all over the country, and some are already off to a good start," Curry added. "We're excited for them to have a successful summer."
