LITTLE ROCK – The second annual Little Rock Baseball First Pitch Banquet presented by Thompson Electric will take place on Friday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m., at the Jack Stephens Center.
Â
The Trojans will recognize longtime supporter and current NFL referee Walt Coleman. In January 2016, Coleman and his family donated 10 acres of property in the area of the University Village Apartments and the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex for the construction of a new baseball field. A 10-acre property donation by the Coleman family in 2010, combined with land the university already owned, cleared the way for the University to build its current sports complex.
Â
"I'm very excited about our second annual Little Rock Baseball First Pitch Banquet presented by Thompson Electric," head coach
Chris Curry said. "It's a great opportunity for the community to meet the 2017 Little Rock Trojans. It's going to be a fun event and great for kids. There will be good food and good times, and it's an exciting way to kick off the season."
Â
The entire Trojan squad will be on hand to sign autographs and meet fans. Last year, Little Rock had a record year with its best-ever finish in conference play with a third-place finish and recorded its most Sun Belt wins in program history with 17.
Â
"I'm very humbled to have the opportunity to speak at the Little Rock Baseball First Pitch Banquet presented by Thompson Electric," Walt Coleman said. "I'm looking forward to a great opportunity for the community to support Little Rock baseball."
Â
General admission tickets are $35 while corporate tables with 10 seats are $500. Supporting sponsors can buy a table for $1,000 and will receive recognition in the banquet program along with other perks.
