Trojan Tennis finishes recruiting class

June 18, 2002

Head Coach Tommy McDonald closed out his first recruiting class at UALR with the signing of Mark Edney and Sebastian Falk to play tennis for the Trojans this fall.

Mark Edney is a transfer from the University of Louisiana-Monroe and will be a junior this season.  The Melbourne, Austrailia native played the number three and four positions for the Indians last year.

“Mark is someone who works hard and brings experience to the table having already played two years of college tennis,” head coach Tommy McDonald said.  “He knows what to expect at this level.”

The Trojans also signed Sebastian Falk from Haslach, Germany to play for the men this fall.  Falk attended the Commercial School of Haslach where he was a nationally ranked junior player in Germany.

“I expect Sebastian to contribute immediately in singles and doubles play,” McDonald said.  “He is part of the foundation along with David Baxendine we are building for the future.”

Edney and Falk join Ellie Vicary, Bindiya Parekh, David Baxendine and Katarazyna Prokop as the first class of recruits for McDonald who took over the Trojan tennis program last summer.
