Box Score 2 Trojans End Tournament With Loss

SPRINGFILED, Mo.?Arkansas-Little Rock's volleyball team ended the weekend with a four game loss against Saint Louis (30-22, 28-30, 20-30, 24-30) at the St. Clair Corporation/Clarion Hotel Missouri State Invitational Sunday. The Trojans (1-3) recorded 17 kills in the first game.
Ivanka Davidova, an All-Tournament team selection, led the team in kills knocking down 14, while Megan Naborowski recorded her third straight double-digit game in digs with 22.
UALR started the first game slow falling behind early 9-3. The Trojans then rattled off six straight points to narrow Saint Louis's lead.
UALR capitalized on their opponent's errors to control the score mid-game scoring six more consecutive points.
The Trojans kept the lead and won the game 30-22 on a final kill by Ana Carolina Buccini.
The second game remained close, but Saint Louis edged UALR at the end with a kill by Tatyana Menshikova and a service ace by Lauren Boissevain to win 30-28.
The third and fourth games belonged to Saint Louis with the Billikens recording 31 kills and forced 17 Trojan errors.
UALR continues tournament action next weekend at the University of Memhpis Invitational in Memphis. The Trojans face Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Tennessee-Martin Friday Sept. 2 and Alabama A&M and Memphis Saturday.
