Trojans Win Third Straight Against Tennessee-Martin

STARKVILLE, Miss.—For
the second time this season, Arkansas-Little Rock's volleyball team swept
Tennessee-Martin (30-22, 30-21, 32-30) to win their third straight match
at the Mississippi State University Microtel Classic Friday. The Trojans
limited their opponents to a .126 match hitting percentage.
Larisa Durmisevic
recorded her seventh double-digit kill match with a team high of 16
kills. Amila Baracovic led the team in hitting percentage with a .615
mark.
Iva Adzic tied her
season high of six serving aces, which she set against Tennessee-Martin
earlier this season.
Megan Naborowski
led the team in digs with 17, her eighth straight double-digit dig match.
UALR (7-5) came out
strong the first two games limiting Tennessee-Martin (1-13) to .108
hitting percentage the first game and .030 percentage the second.
The Trojans knocked
down 26 kills in the two games for a .254 mark.
In the third game,
UALR took the early lead on a kill by Ana Carolina Buccini. The Skyhawks
and the Trojans tied the scored ten times with UALR holding on for the
lead.
With the score
27-23, Tennessee-Martin rattled off five consecutive points to take the
lead 28-27.
The lead changed
hands until Durmisevic knocked down a kill to take the 30-29 advantage.
The Skyhawks answered back to tie the score once again, before Durmsevic
recorded the two match winning kills.
Arkansas-Little
Rock continues tournament action Saturday opening the day against
Louisiana-Lafayette at 11 a.m. and host school Mississippi
State at 3 p.m.
