LITTLE ROCK, Ark.?The University of Arkansas-Little Rock swim team finished first in three events but was edged by Henderson State 50-26 at the Donaghey Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Junior Danielle Horack recorded a personal best in the 200 yard butterfly winning the event in a time of 2:17.90. She also placed second in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:08.77.
Senior Mary Emmons placed first in two events swimming the 200 yard individual medley in a time of 2:22.44 and the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:41.83.
Senior Eimear Ryan swam a strong race finishing second in the 200 yard backstroke finishing in 2:22.90.
Junior Kellie LaMonica finished the day third in the 50 yard freestyle (28.38) and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle (1:01.94), while freshman Tanya Maltseva placed second in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:45.81), third in the 100 yard freestyle (1:01.46), and fourth in the 200 yard individual medley (2:31.85).
Sophomore Sarah Butler recorded a personal best in the 50 yard freestyle placed fourth in 30.58. She also placed fifth in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:07.76.
Junior Susana Villalba placed fifth in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:24.82, while Gabrielle Edwards finished fifth in the 50 yard freestyle in 34.33.
Both Trojans relay teams placed second. The 400 yard medley relay team of Ryan, Emmons, Horack, and LaMonica finished the event in 4:28.11, while the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Villalba, Butler, Edwards, and Ryan finished in 1:58.54.
