Box Score LAFAYETTE, La.?The UALR volleyball team won their second straight conference match with a 3-0 (30-20, 30-23, 30-24) win over Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday. The Trojans improve to 9-12 overall and 2-2 in the Sun Belt.
Amila Barakovic recorded her twelfth double-double of the season with team highs of 18 kills and 11 digs. She also recorded a .533 attack percentage recording only two errors on 30 attempts.
Ivanka Davidova knocked down eight kills, while Courtney Hays contributed eight digs.
In the first game, UALR jumped to an early lead on a kill by Davidova.
Louisiana-Lafayette (4-11, 1-3 Sun Belt) came within two points, but the Trojans sustained their lead.
A kill by Anita Bucur sealed the game one victory for UALR.
In game two, the Ragin' Cajuns jumped to a 2-0 lead. The Trojans quickly answered back scoring seven consecutive points.
Louisiana-Lafayette tied the score at 13 on a service ace by Kendra Hall.
The score would tie three more times before UALR regained the lead. An attack error by the Ragin' Cajuns ended the second game 30-23.
The Trojans once again jumped to an early lead in game three, but Louisiana-Lafayette rallied back to tie the score at 11.
UALR knocked down seven straight points to bring the score to 17-12.
The Trojans finished the match on a service error by the Ragin' Cajuns.
UALR continues conference action Sunday when they face New Orleans in New Orleans, La. Match begins at 1 p.m.
