Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark.?After a close first game, Western Kentucky knocked down 33 kills and nine of their 13 service aces over the next two games to defeat UALR 3-0 (31-33, 17-30, 19-30) Saturday at the Jack Stephens Center. The Trojans lost their third straight match and fall to 9-15 overall and 2-5 in Sun Belt action.
Ivanka Davidova led the Trojans with 10 kills and hit .348 for the match, while Amila Barakovic knocked down seven kills.
Courtney Hays led UALR in digs recording 10, while Barakovic contributed nine.
Megan Argabright led Western Kentucky with 18 kills and hit .630 for the match, while Jenna Gideon recorded 12 kills.
Kelly Hofmeyer led the Lady Toppers with 12 digs.
UALR knocked down ten kills in game one, while WKU recorded 17 but committed 11 errors.
Argabright knocked down Western Kentucky's first point, but a service error tied the score.
With the score tied at four, UALR took the lead on a service error and an attack error by the Lady Toppers.
The score tied three more times before WKU took the advantage scoring as many as five consecutive points.
With the score 26-18 in WKU's favor, a Lady Topper service error sparked a seven point UALR run bringing the Trojans within one point.
A kill by Barkaovic tied the score at 28, and two WKU errors gave UALR the one point advantage.
With the score tied at 31, a service error followed by a kill by Argabright gave Western Kentucky the first game win.
In game two, WKU jumped to an early two point lead.
With the score 13-8, the Lady Toppers knocked down eight consecutive points.
A service ace by Julia Noe won game two for the Lady Toppers 30-17.
Western Kentucky recorded a .500 hitting percentage in game three recording 16 kills on 30 attempts and one error.
The score remained close at the start of the game with the Trojans remaining with two, but Western Kentucky held the advantage.
A service ace by Argabright sealed the match victory for the Lady Toppers 30-19.
UALR continues conference action Friday, October 13 as they face South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. Match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
