Box Score JONESBORO, Ark.?The UALR volleyball team lost their fifth straight match Saturday to Arkansas State 3-2 (28-30, 30-25, 30-26, 21-30, 12-15). The Trojans fall to 12-20 overall and 5-10 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Amila Barakovic recorded her 17th double-double of the season with a team high of 28 kills and 18 digs.
Sanda Dzile recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 60 assists and a team high of 20 digs.
UALR took the 2-0 lead in the first game on kills by Ivanka Davidova, but Arkansas State tied the score on two kills.
The score tied seven more times before Arkansas State took the lead on a UALR attack error.
ASU won game one on a kill by Jessalyn Payne.
The Trojans took games two and three recording 34 kills, while the Lady Indians committed seven errors.
A kill by Anita Bucur and an Arkansas State attack error sealed the 30-25 and 30-26 victories.
Arkansas State forced five games by knocking down 15 kills in game four for the 30-21 victory.
UALR jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game five on three attack errors by the Lady Indians and a kill by Barakovic.
ASU fought back and tied the score at nine on a service ace by Beth Jones.
The Trojans scored two straight points on Lady Indian errors, before ASU score four consecutive points to take the 13-11 lead.
After UALR scored on a kill by Bucur, Arkansas State knocked down a kill and scored on a UALR attack error for the 15-12 win.
UALR continues conference action on Friday November 10 as they host New Orleans. Match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
