Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky.?Despite tying the score in the second half, the University of Arkansas-Little Rock lost 73-51 at the E.A. Diddle Arena Thursday. UALR (12-12, 4-7) shot 33.3 percent from the floor and committed 22 turnovers.
Jocelyn Love led all scorers with 20 points, while Renee Renz contributed 12 points. Renz, Love, and Rachel Smith led the team in rebounds with six.
Crystal Kelly led the Lady Toppers (19-5, 9-2) with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Western Kentucky started the first half with a 4-0 run on jumpers by Kelly and Dominique Duc. Jessica Brown gave UALR their first field goal at the 18:30 mark with a jumper.
Both teams exchanged baskets until the 15:56 mark when WKU scored six consecutive points to spread their lead to eight.
Love made a three-point play with 14:09 on the clock to cut the lead to five.
Western Kentucky scored two baskets to every Trojan one expanding the lead to ten with 10:34 remaining on a three-pointer by Cammie Campbell.
Love kept the Trojans within reach with a three-pointer and a jumper, but the Lady Hilltoppers answered back each shot.
With 4:27 remaining in the half, Smith knocked down a three to cut the lead to six.
Western Kentucky out scored the Trojans 7-4 in the remaining four minutes to hold the 35-26 half-time lead.
The Lady Toppers started the second half with a turnover which led to Love scoring five consecutive points to cut the lead to four.
At the 16:13 mark, Renz knocked in a jumper to continue the Trojan run.
After a UALR steal, Love tied the score at 35 with a layup before the Lady Toppers went on a six point run to regain the lead including their first field goal of the half at the 14:35 mark.
Western Kentucky expanded their lead back to ten at the 9:46 mark on free throws by Kelly.
The Lady Toppers scored ten consecutive points gaining their lead to 20, until Love hit a jumper with 6:17 remaining.
Over the next minute and a half, WKU scored nine points to UALR's two.
At the 4:18 mark, the Trojans knocked in three points off of free throws to bring the score to 66-42.
Western Kentucky won 73-51.
Arkansas-Little Rock continues conference action on Saturday against Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
