Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn.-The UALR volleyball team started the final day of the Memphis Tiger Invitational with a 3-2 win (30-22, 27-30, 30-23, 27-30, 15-10) over Lipscomb but ended the day with a 3-0 loss (19-30, 26-30, 26-30) to host school Memphis.
In the first match against Lipscomb, five Trojans recorded double-digit digs with Ana Carolina Buccini leading UALR with a career and match high of 37 digs.
Ivanka Davidova led UALR with 21 kills and a .462 attack percentage, while Amila Barakovic recorded her eighth double-double with 14 kills and 21 digs.
Anita Bucur recorded 15 kills, while Sanda Dzile recorded a double-double with 52 set assists and 12 digs.
In game one the Trojans took an early lead and sustained it winning the game on a kill by Davidova.
Lipscomb took the early lead in game two, but the Trojans fought back to tie the score at 19 on an attack error by their opponents.
With Lipscomb at match point 29-26, UALR scored on an attack error, but Lipscomb pulled out the win with a kill.
UALR won the third game 30-23 on a kill by Barakovic, but Lipscomb sent the match into five games with a 30-27 win in game four.
In the final game, the Trojans battled back to tie the score at seven. Lipscomb challenged the Trojans, but UALR scored three consecutive points and held on for the 15-10 win.
In the second match against Memphis, Davidova and Bucur lead the team with 14 kills, while Barakovic knocked down 12.
Buccini led the team with 19 digs.
In game one, Memphis took the early 4-0 lead sustained it winning 30-19.
The Trojans took the 3-0 lead in the second game, but Memphis tied the score at 10.
The score tied five more times before Memphis took the lead and sustained it for the 30-26 win.
UALR challenged Memphis in game three coming within one point several times, but the Tigers scored three consecutive points at the end to take the 30-26 win and the match.
UALR continues tournament action next weekend at the Oral Roberts Classic. The Trojans open with a match against the host school on Thursday at 7 p.m.
