Box Score TULSA, Okla.?The UALR Volleyball team fell in the first match of the Oral Roberts Classic to the host school 3-0 (19-30, 18-30, 22-30) Thursday. The Trojans lost their second straight match and fall to 6-8 on the season.
Amila Barakovic led the team with 10 kills and also recorded eight digs, while Ivanka Davidova knocked down seven kills.
Ana Carolina Buccini led the team in digs with 14.
Oral Roberts recorded a .448 attack percentage in game one knocking down 14 kills on just one error on 29 attacks while forcing eight Trojans errors.
ORU took the early lead scoring six consecutive points for the 10-3 advantage. A service error by UALR and a kill by Maja Devic sealed the 30-19 game one win.
In game two, ORU took a 3-0 lead with two kills and a service ace. The Trojans fought back within seven points, but the host school scored six consecutive points at the end of the match for the 30-18 game two victory.
Oral Roberts once again took an early lead in game three scoring five straight points at the beginning including three kills by Ori Zuric.
The Trojans rallied back tying the score at 13 on an ORU error.
UALR stayed within three points, but ORU stretched their lead on kills and UALR errors to win the game and the match 30-22.
UALR continues tournament action at the Oral Roberts Classic Friday. The Trojans face Utah State at 2:30 p.m. and St. Francis College at 4:30 p.m.
