Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark.?The UALR volleyball team lost their second straight conference match to North Texas 3-0 (27-30, 15-30, 26-30) at the Jack Stephens Center Sunday. The Trojans fall to 7-12 overall and 0-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Amila Barakovic led the team in kills with 10, while Sanda Dzile led the team in digs with nine.
North Texas had three athletes score in double-digit kills with Tara Hooser leading the team with 14.
In the first game, the Trojans knocked down 15 kills on 33 attempts for a .303 hitting percentage, but North Texas took the game 30-27.
After an opening kill by Anita Bucur, the Mean Green scored seven consecutive points for the 6-1 advantage.
UALR tied the score at eight, but UNT took the lead. The Trojans surged at the end of the match coming within one point on an attack error by the Mean Green.
UNT won the game on kills by Hooser and Katy Prokof.
In the second game, the Trojans knocked down only nine kills while committing six errors for a .071 attack percentage, while UNT recorded .310 on 17 kills.
UNT took an early 7-2 lead and sustained it throughout the game. The Mean Green won the game on a kill by Prokof.
In game three, the lead changed hands with the score tying eight times before Anelia Petrova recorded three straight service aces for an 11-8 advantage.
UALR kept the lead until an attack error tied the score at 14. UNT scored as many as seven consecutive points to keep their advantage over the Trojans.
With the score 28-22, UALR rallied off four straight points to come within two.
UNT won the match on a kill by Hooser and block assists by Brittney Gregory and Heather Maddox.
UALR continues conference action next weekend as they travel to Louisiana-Monroe. Match is set for 5 p.m.
