BOCA RATON, Fla.?The UALR volleyball team won their third straight match with a 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-27) victory over Florida Atlantic Friday. The Trojans improve to 15-7 overall and 7-3 in Sun Belt action.
Amila Barakovic led UALR in kills with 13, while Dilyana Deyanova knocked down 12.
Amy Hafner recorded a team high of 11 digs, while Courtney Hays recorded 10 digs for the match.
In game one, UALR took the 1-0 lead on a service error by Florida Atlantic (6-15, 3-8 SBC). FAU tied the score on a kill, before the Trojans knocked down two straight points on kills by Barakovic and Anita Bucur.
The score tied three times, before UALR took the lead and sustained it knocking down as many as three straight points.
The Trojans won a service ace.
UALR jumped to a 2-0 lead in game two on Florida Atlantic errors. The Owls quickly tied the score on Trojan errors.
The score tied three more times with FAU taking the lead extending it to three. UALR pushed points and tied the score at 17 on an attack error.
The score tied again at 20, but the Trojans scored four straight points to take the lead and maintain it.
UALR won the game on a kill by Deyanova.
In game three, FAU put the first point on the board on a kill, before the Trojans recorded six straight points.
UALR held the Owls to 17 points for the game and won the match on an attack error.
UALR continues conference action Saturday as they face Florida International in Miami, Fla. Match is set for 6 p.m. C.S.T.
