LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--Senior Jocelyn Love was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first team for her academic and athletic achievements and is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America. This is the first time in school history that a member of the women's basketball team has received this honor.
The West Memphis, Ark. native holds nine career records and became UALR's all-time leading scorer this season against Southern Arkansas. For her career, she has tallied 1,495 points, 406 rebounds, 202 assists, and 173 steals.
Love averaged 13.2 points and 3.9 rebounds this season while recording 12 double-digit scoring games and five 20-plus scoring games before a knee injury ended her season.
The Early Childhood Education major maintains a 3.78 GPA and recorded a 4.0 GPA this past semester. She has been named to the UALR Chancellor and Dean's Lists and the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List every semester of her collegiate career.
Love is one of three Sun Belt Conference players to make Academic All-District all of which were first team selections. Chrissy Givens of Middle Tennessee and Jada Frazier of New Orleans are also eligible for Academic All-America.
