Box Score MONROE, La.?The UALR volleyball team ended their Louisiana matches with a 3-0 (25-16, 29-27, 25-11) win over ULM Monday. The Trojans improve to 19-4 overall and 8-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Anita Bucur led the team in kills knocking down 11 and in attack percentage recording a .526 mark with one error on 19 attempts. Amila Barakovic recorded ten kills in the win.
Amy Hafner led the team in digs with 21, while Guiliana De Francesco recorded a team high of 28 assists.
ULM (1-22, 0-9 Sun Belt) opened the first set 1-0 with a kill by Mari O'Neal, before UALR scored on a kill by Bucur.
The score tied twice, and then the Warhawks regained their lead scoring two straight points. The Trojans pushed points and tied the score at seven and eight before taking their first lead of the match on a kill by Bucur.
UALR scored as many as five consecutive points and held ULM to 16 points winning the set on a kill by Barakovic.
In the second set, the Trojans took the early 1-0 lead on a kill by Barakovic. After ULM tied the score, UALR scored two straight points on a kill by Katie McCutcheon and a Warhawk error.
UALR sustained their advantage, but ULM pushed points tying the score nine times. With the score 24-22 in UALR's favor, ULM scored two straight points to tie the score.
The Warhawks tied the score three more times, before the Trojans knocked down two points on kills by Bucur to win the set 29-27.
UALR opened the third set on an 8-0 run, before a UALR service error but the first points on the board for ULM.
The Trojans sustained their lead and held the Warhawks to 11 points. UALR won on a kill by Barakovic.
UALR continues conference action on Saturday as they host Florida International. Match is set for 7 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center.
