Box Score TROY, Ala.?The UALR volleyball team continued their winning streak with a 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 16-25, 15-5) win over Troy Friday at Trojan Arena. UALR improves their record to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in conference action, while Troy falls to 9-9 overall and 0-3 in conference action.
Amila Barakovic led the team in kills with 18 and recorded eight digs, while Anita Bucur knocked down 16 kills for the Trojans. Lora Dickey recorded 11 kills and three blocks including two block solos, while Amy Hafner led the team in digs with 13.
Troy opened the first set on a 2-0 run, before UALR scored their first two points on a service ace and a kill by Barakovic. Troy held the advantage with UALR pushing points and tying the score at seven on a Troy attack error.
UALR took their first lead on a Troy attack error and sustained it scoring as many as three points. UALR won 25-20 on an attack error by Troy.
In the second set, UALR opened to a 1-0 lead on a Troy attack error, before Troy tied the score on a kill by Aubre Smith. Troy knocked down three straight points, before UALR scored on a Troy service error.
UALR pushed points and tied the score five times, before Troy took the 18-17 advantage. Troy sustained their lead and won the set 25-2 on a kill by Meghan Gilroy.
UALR won the third set 26-24 recording a .233 attack percentage to a .171 for Troy. UALR won on a Troy attack error. Troy answered back in the fourth set winning 25-16 on a UALR attack error.
In the fifth set, Troy jumped to a 1-0 lead, before UALR scored on a kill by Bucur. The score tied three times, before UALR knocked down five points to take the 9-4 advantage.
UALR won the set and match 15-5 on a Troy attack error.
UALR continues volleyball action on Sunday as they face South Alabama. Match is set for 12 p.m.
