Box Score JONESBORO, Ark.?The UALR volleyball team won their third straight match with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-15) victory over Arkansas State Tuesday at the Convocation Center. The Trojans improve to 23-6 overall and 12-4 in the Sun Belt.
Amila Barakovic led UALR in kills with 16 and in digs with eight, while Amy Hafner led the team in digs as well with eight. Katie McCutcheon led the team in attack percentage with a .571 mark.
In set one, Arkansas State (20-10, 9-7 Sun Belt) started with a 1-0 lead on a kill by Kristen Catalane. The Trojans answered back with two straight points on an ASU error and a kill by Lora Dickey.
The score tied four times, before UALR took the lead recording four straight points on a kill by Anita Bucur and three attack errors.
The Trojans sustained their lead through the set holding the Red Wolves to 17 points and winning on a kill by Becky Mann.
A kill by Barakovic opened the second set for the Trojans. After the score tied at one, UALR scored two straight points on a kill by Barakovic and a kill by McCutcheon for the 3-1 advantage.
ASU pushed points and tying the score at five. The Trojans regained the lead knocking down as many as three straight points.
UALR won the set 25-18 scoring the last three points of the set and winning on a kill by Barakovic.
In the third set, the Trojans opened with the first point on an ASU error. After the Red Wolves tied the score at one, UALR scored seven consecutive points to gain an 8-1 lead.
The Trojans held ASU to their lowest points of the three sets with 15 and won the set and match on an ASU attack error.
UALR continues volleyball action on November 14 as they travel to Denver, Colo. to face the University of Denver. Match is set for 8 p.m.
