Texas—The UALR volleyball team dropped the team's
sixth-straight conference match on Sunday 0-3 (14-25, 19-25, 21-25) at North
Texas. The Trojans fall to 2-14 overall
and 0-6 in conference action.
Junior Kristi Block led the team in kills with
seven, while sophomore Emily Pepperman led
the team in digs with ten. Freshman Ty Lindberg recorded a career and
team-high of eight block assists and total blocks.
A North Texas attack error
gave UALR the lead in set one, before the Mean Green recorded five-straight
points including two kills and three Trojan attack errors.
UALR could not recover scoring
only 14 points and losing the set on a North Texas kill.
UNT jumped to a 4-0 lead
in set three including two UALR attack errors.
The Trojans scored the team's first point on a kill by Lindberg.
The Trojans pushed points
bringing the team within one on a service ace by Daniele Souza Moura 7-6, but the Mean Green maintained the
advantage.
UNT held UALR to 19 points
and won a kill by Amy Huddleston.
UALR opened the third set 2-0
on two-straight North Texas attack errors.
After UNT scored on a kill, the Trojans extended the team's lead to 4-1
on back-to-back Mean Green errors.
UNT pushed points tying
the score twice before knocking down four-straight points.
The Mean Green maintained
their lead and won the set and match 25-21 on a Trojan attack error.
UALR continues volleyball
action on Friday, October 15 at Arkansas State.
