LITTLE ROCK – Despite picking up momentum with a second-set victory, the Little Rock volleyball team was unable to maintain that momentum in a 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 11-25, 21-25) loss to Arkansas State at the Jack Stephens Center on Friday afternoon.

In the final home game of her career,
Edina Selimovic led Little Rock with 13 kills.
Carolee Dillard also had 10 kills in her final home match.
Taylor Lindberg led the way with 35 assists, and senior
Kelsey Leech had 18 digs in the final home match of her career.

The teams were locked in a tight battle in the first set early, with the score tied 9-9. From there, though, the Red Wolves scored six of the next seven points to take a 15-10 lead. Their lead never dipped below three points again as they won the set by five points.

Little Rock jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second set and maintained their four-point lead all the way to 10-6. But the Red Wolves fought back after that, tying the set at 15-15. The teams exchanged points all the way through 23-23 before the Trojans were finally able to pull away. A block from Dillard and Marin preceded the set-clinching point on an attack error by Arkansas State's Kelsey Reis.

After the break, Arkansas State regained the momentum with a 14-point win in the third set. The Red Wolves jumped out to an 8-point lead at 9-1 and never looked back.

Arkansas State forced Little Rock to use two early timeouts in the fourth set with leads of 5-2 and 12-5, and the Trojans were never able to make up that deficit despite a 5-0 run to get within two points at 14-12.

With the regular season complete, Little Rock now advances to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament beginning on November 18. Little Rock's seed and opponent are still to be determined.
