LITTLE ROCK – The Trojan women's basketball team will look to build off its second win of the season when it travels to Missouri State on Monday for a contest on ESPN3 at 7:05 p.m.

Little Rock looked excellent on defense and had its best offensive night of the season against Saint Louis on Saturday, defeating the Billikens by 13 points to get some revenge for a Postseason WNIT loss last year. Little Rock got double-figure scoring nights from Kaitlyn Pratt, Sharde' Collins and Kyra Collier in the win.

Pratt, who was playing in her 100th career game, also brought down a career-high 17 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season. Collier's 12 points were a career high, and Ronjanae DeGray also tied her career best in scoring with 8 points.

But the star of the game was the Little Rock defense. After giving up 19 points in the first quarter, the Trojans allowed just 6 points in the second and fourth quarters to stifle a Saint Louis offense that had averaged nearly 80 points per game in its five prior games.

The Trojans' defense is allowing just 55.3 points per game, the lowest number in the Sun Belt and the 40th-best scoring defense in the nation.

Monday will brinrg another challenge as Missouri State is the defending Missouri Valley Conference champion, reaching the NCAA Tournament last season and falling to Texas A&M in the tournament's first round. The Bears were picked to finish third in the conference this season. Missouri State has two wins on the year against Kansas and Alaska-Anchorage but lost three games to Memphis, Northwestern and Southern California.

The Bears won last year's meeting with the Trojans by 6 points at the Jack Stephens Center and have won 11 of 13 games all-time against Little Rock. The Trojans' last victory in the series came in 2014 at the Jack Stephens Center.

TIP OFF
  • Little Rock broke a four-game losing streak on Saturday with a win over Atlantic 10 favorite and 2016 WNIT opponent Saint Louis.
  • The Trojans had three players score in double figures including a career-high 12 points from Kyra Collier.
  • Kaitlyn Pratt put up a double-double with 16 points and a career-high 17 rebounds while reaching 100 career games played and 250 career offensive boards.
  • The Trojans' defense was the true star of the game, holding Saint Louis to just 6 points each in the second and fourth quarters. The Billikens had averaged 79.6 points per game entering Saturday.
  • Missouri State holds an 11-2 record against the Trojans all time, but one of Little Rock's wins in the series came just two years ago in the Jack Stephens Center.
