LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock will welcome Oral Roberts to the Jack Stephens Center on Thursday evening seeking its fifth straight win against the Golden Eagles and its third straight win this year.
 
Thursday night's game – set for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff – will be Youth Basketball Team Night and also host another opportunity for the Family Four Pack. Fans taking advantage of the Family Four Pack will be able to purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for just $40.
 
The Trojans will be entering Thursday's contest against Oral Roberts coming off two consecutive wins. Little Rock beat Saint Louis at home on Saturday before traveling to Springfield, Mo., on Monday night and knocking off Missouri State.
 
At Missouri State, Little Rock found itself in a tight contest midway through the third quarter. But from there, the Trojans completely took over the game by going on a 19-0 run and crusing to a comfortable 11-point win.
 
Sharde' Collins has been Little Rock's top scorer this season, putting up double figures in five of the team's seven games. She's also gotten help in the last two games from freshman Kyra Collier, who has scored 13 and 11 points against Saint Louis and Missouri State, respectively. Monique Townson, meanwhile, has been contributing with excellent passing. She has 13 assists in the last two games and is averaging 37.9 minutes played per game, the 10th-most in the nation.
 
Besides quality minutes from their guards, the Trojans' defense has been playing at a high level. The Trojans kept Missouri State off the board for eight consecutive minutes on Monday night, and Little Rock's 54.1 points allowed per game is the 29th-best mark in the nation. The Trojans are tops in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring defense as well.
 
Oral Roberts is 3-3 this season with wins over Tulsa, Houston Baptist and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. The Golden Eagles defeated USAO by 32 points on Tuesday night. Faith Ihim leads the team with 16.0 points per game while three other players on the roster score more than 10 points per game. Oral Roberts was picked to finish fourth in the Summit League this year.
 
Little Rock has not lost to Oral Roberts since 2011, a streak that includes one win every year over the last four years.

  • Little Rock has now won two consecutive games for the first time this season, defeating Saint Louis and Missouri State on Saturday and Monday, respectively.
