LITTLE ROCK – After splitting the first two sets, Little Rock volleyball lost the next two and took a 3-1 loss (20-25, 27-25, 13-25, 14-25) to Coastal Carolina on Saturday night at the Jack Stephens Center.
 
Marina Avram was beastly for the Trojans (4-10, 0-2 Sun Belt) as she tied a career high with 21 kills on 51 swings while hitting .294. 
Taylor Lindberg had a match-high 40 assists with nine digs and two kills. 
Sydnee Martin led the match with 24 digs and added two aces. 
Veronica Marin led the Trojans with four total blocks (two solo and two assisted) while putting down eight kills. 
Nedima Kamberovic led the match with a season-high .538 hitting percentage as she tallied a season-high seven kills and two blocks.
 
The Chanticleers (5-6, 2-0 Sun Belt) brought the firepower as Leah Hardeman racked up 32 kills, a .492 hitting percentage on 61 swings with 16 digs. She was the only Coastal Carolina player with double-digit kills.
 
Coastal Carolina led the entirety of the first set and took the frame by five points after hitting .433 while the Trojans hit .139. Avram led the set with nine kills on 12 swings with no errors while Lindberg had a set-high 11 assists.
 
The tightest set of the night occurred in the second as Little Rock squeaked out a two-point win in extra points. The frame had six lead changes and 16 tie scores. The Trojans tallied 20 kills for the set with a .300 hitting percentage while the Chanticleers had 13 kills and a .205 hitting percentage. Avram had another spectacular set as she posted seven kills while Lindberg tallied 15 assists.  
 
The final two sets were all Coastal Carolina as Little Rock never took another lead during the match. The Trojans hit just .075 in the third set while the Chanticleers hit .361. It was the same story in the final set as Little Rock mustered .031 compared to the Coastal's .312
 
Mya Robinson ended the match with six kills, seven digs and two block assists while 
Maritza Mesa tallied a couple of kills. 
Daisha Gillard had three kills to go along with thee total blocks. 
Kassidy Hopkins and 
Jovana Cernjanski each had three digs while Cernjanski served up two aces.
 
Little Rock will resume Sun Belt action at ULM on Friday night at 6:30 in Monroe, Louisiana.
