Trojans Use Dominant Performance to Defeat Louisiana

LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans used three first-half goals to propel them to a comfortable 3-0 win when they traveled to Louisiana to take on the Ragin' Cajuns in a conference matchup. Natalee Geren scored her first goal in a Little Rock uniform on the night as the Trojans sealed the three points on the road.

"I'm delighted with the girls' performance tonight," said Head Coach Mark Foster. "Tonight was one of those nights where we had the perfect combination of great defensive and attacking play. I'm so thankful to see these girls getting the results they deserve after all the hard work they have put into this season. I hope we are peaking at the right time."

Doro Greulich struck first after the Trojans won a corner. Morgan Smocovich whipped in a dangerous cross and Louisiana frantically tried to clear the loose ball in the box but Greulich used her strength to get the ball first and slot it home. The German's third goal of the season gave Little Rock a quick 1-0 advantage.

A long-range effort from Fanney Einarsdotir doubled the Little Rock lead. Greulich found Einarsdotir well outside the penalty area and the freshman from Iceland laced a shot into the top right-hand corner of the net to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead.

Natalee Geren capped off an incredible first half for the Trojans with the first goal of her collegiate career. Camilla Olsson delivered a nice ball to the freshman who was positioned just outside the six-yard box. Geren hit the shot first-time on her right foot and tucked the ball just inside the right post to secure the important three points. Olsson made an immediate impact after missing five games due to injury, picking up an assist and logging 31 minutes.

Sara Johannsdottir made four saves and recorded her seventh shutout of the season.

The Trojans have gone unbeaten in their last five matches and ride a three-game win streak into Sunday's match.

Little Rock will return to the Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex for a matchup with rival Arkansas State on Oct. 14. The Trojan Tailgate will take place so fans should make sure to arrive early to enjoy some food before the game.
